"For me, grief is not just an intermittent feeling, it is a constant. I am grieving a body that continues to decline regardless of medication and procedures. For me, grief is endless. The grief of a failing body, an intimacy borrowed and rarely returned, the obedience of swallowing what I am given and calling it maintenance. There is no recovery, only endurance is an endurance-based installation, based on my experience with chronic pain and the ongoing search for a diagnosis. Each print is a separate still from my MRIs, held up with miniature pins. The installation of this work depends on how long my nerves can last before they give out and I drop a print, a pin, or the five-pound hammer. This project is a testament to my illness and how I am learning to accept my failing body. It is an extension of my own chronic pain and ability to endure. In the original installation there are 294 prints." This piece here includes a selection of prints (shown) that will be included in a frame for wall hanging.
