"distillations was written and produced as a means of directly managing my own grief. I also created distillations in preparation to support my now eight-year-old sister as she learns to manage her grief in the future. distillations meditates on various forms of grief and how I learned to process them, and is presented in six chapters, each based on a note that I wrote to eventually share with my sister."

"MA is a short film written in response to a late night interview where the Mother of a man who had been murdered spoke of attending the trial of his murderer. Day on day she sat in the same seat as she watched and listened, and thought to herself that no one could ever be asked to sit in so difficult a seat. As the trial progressed, she observed the mother of the man who had killed her son, the grief she bore, and thought that as cruel a cross as her's was, there were crosses harder to bear.
"NOT is a surrealist exploration of being the "other" child in a family where a child with special needs is born. Because the story is told through this surrealist lens the expression lends itself to the expression of the grief of others with different stories."

"The Anticipatory|Después series visualizes the anticipatory grief of caregiving and the process of dying through performative videos and photography. Each piece shares the physical and emotional state of the dying, the caregiver, and at times the two concurrently. Ranging from fast and aggressive dance-like movement to slow and meditative contemplation, the enacted scenes capture a range of emotions and thought processes of understanding and untangling the intertwined traumas of caregiving and acute grief. As my mother's caregiver in the final year of her life, I translate my personal experience of grief into my studio practice in order to combat the isolation and shame many grievers face in our death-avoidant culture. Consequence depicts the inner turmoil of caregiving for the terminally ill. The frustration and pain of the caregiver tasks, alongside anticipatory grief, are expressed in an imaginary space where they can be safely released. This piece honors the expression of rage as equal to the expression of sadness."

"This multimedia project began after my father died suddenly of heart failure in July 2021. Looking for ways to process my grief through connection, I reached out to others who had also recently lost a parent. The work is built from fragments of those conversations, recordings of messages to deceased parents, sessions with spiritual mediums, and found footage of people speaking about grief. Layered through collage and projection, these voices and images come together to reflect the ways grief reshapes memory, presence, and our relationship to those who are gone."

"Echoes of the Unseen is an experimental film exploring grief through poetic imagery, somatic movement, and the rhythms of nature. Layering motion and memory, the film reflects on loss not as something to overcome, but as a landscape we learn to inhabit. "In July 2023, my older brother Anthony died from epilepsy at the age of 45. Epilepsy was something he lived with for most of his life, but it was only a small part of his story. Film and music were a language we shared. Too emotional to speak at his memorial, I created this short film using family footage and photos from throughout his life, set to some of his favorite songs, to offer a glimpse of his spirit. "My mother has suffered on and off with mental health throughout my life, and whilst I was able to take time away from being as close to my family, I was able to reflect on the experiences that shaped me. This is a narrative for anyone, and in many ways, I think it can reflect even the smallest of grievances. I have grievances for the lack of nuisance I had as a child but also feel deeply for little me. My mother is still living, but I grieve the moments that she has lost due to her lack of support when it comes to accessing care."

Process Video for "Skin Impressions: " A near-death experience during childbirth at an understaffed hospital fuels my focus on the connective tissue of fragility and resilience between human bodies and the body of the land. I sculpt these forms in clay—an ideal, volatile, and imperfect medium—to explore the visceral feelings and landscape of the body and geographical narratives of violence and healing. While my vessels provoke questions on the presence of emptiness and potential, my impressions are artifacts of a hidden reality - allowing us to see and feel what the air touches on the surface of our environments."

"This a stop-motion animation I created titled "A Tattoo of Spain," which is set in the world of 1940s Spain under Franco, reflecting on the cyclical and unresolved grief that the regime imposed on its victims. The 1940s song "Tatuaje" by Conchita Piquer inspired this work as it is a story of love lost and never found again, which reflects the cultural atmosphere of the citizens of Spain at the time who were banned from grieving their loved ones lost in war and fascism. My Anthropology work in Spain assisting in the aid of cataloging found remains from the Spanish Civil War gave me a background of understanding how deeply this event wounded an entire culture, and aims to shed light on those who were not allowed to share their pain."
