"The work presents a narrative of the relentless love between my cat and I. Object-based works chronicle processes of grief stemming from the sudden death of Ramirez’s beloved cat, Gato. The artist validates a kind of loss that is socially deemed less impactful through the bond between human and cat, exploring absence and memory and the love that threads through them both. A cat was here but now it's not."
