"These paintings are part of a body of work I created to memorialize the passing of animals that I have encountered in my community, and reflect on human complicity in the death of ecosystems as well as individuals. The morning glory and nightshade symbolize reckless greed and disregard for consequence, while the rabbit, crow, and starling are portraits of the individual as well as representations of what is lost."
