"This piece represents freedom from suppressed emotions. It was my very first piece using entirely spray paint. We would never think of a beautiful flower as sad but even a sad flower is beautiful. So we should be free to express our most intense sadness and still be seen as beautiful yet vulnerable. I experience grief on a daily basis in the form of depression. The fact that I have had 4 Great Danes in the last 13 years exacerbates this because they only live for a short period of time compared to other dogs. But the joy they bring in their lifetime makes it all worthwhile."
