"This is a multidimensional painting where I hand-cut each layer of wood with a scroll saw then laminate the painted panels together. The painting is inset in a cavity routed out of the solid piece of cedar."

Achillea millefolium, or Yarrow, has antiseptic properties and topically is used to stop bleeding. Mystically, it was believed that holding a yarrow leaf to the eyes was thought to grant second sight. It plays a significant role in various rituals associated with love, protection, courage, dispelling negativity, and divination. Yarrow plants were actually found in Neanderthal graves showing it to be one of the earliest signs of human use of medicinal plants.
