Also known as Norwegian kelp, knotted kelp. By regulating dissolved gases, rockweed helps in maintaining water quality along the coast. Also serves as a source of food along the coast. While some species feed on the fronds themselves, others may benefit from the reproductive efforts of the rockweed.

We create pressed seaweed art using only what the Salish Sea offers. Every piece is made from 100% seaweed pressed onto archival watercolor paper — no dyes, no additives, only what washes up on the wrackline.
