Soul explores the medicinal and mystical properties of flora and fauna, conservation of native ecosystems, human interconnection with all of nature, cycles of life and death, and personal transformation. The Peruvian Andes Mountains are the primary source for the streams that feed into the Amazon River Basin and are home to the Quechua people, descendants of Incas. Quechua curanderos, or traditional healers, are experts in the medicinal properties of plants and fungi. The native varieties featured here will help you thrive in the unique conditions of the Andes highlands. Chachacoma treats the headache, nausea and fatigue of high altitude sickness by aiding in oxygen absorption and acting as a bronchodilator. Maca is an adaptogen that boosts energy, mood, stamina, and fertility, and is traditionally used to treat respiratory conditions, anemia, and rheumatic disease. Calaguala ferns have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, provide immune support, purify the blood, treat skin diseases and digestive disorders. Calaguala also contains compounds that are photoprotective and reduce UV-induced skin damage. Cinchona bark contains quinine, historically significant in creating the treatment of malaria. It is also good for treating fever, indigestion, diarrhea, and muscle cramps. The Andean condor is a scavenger that feeds on carrion, providing an essential service to the local ecosystem. These massive bald vultures are the largest bird of prey in the world, yet can stay airborne  for hours without flapping their wings. They symbolize  power, wisdom, and strength, and are a messenger to the gods.
