"Through grief, I have come to understand the body as something incomplete, constantly reaching towards an absence it cannot reconcile.
Searching For Jess explores my experience of grief one year after losing my best friend of twenty years.In everyday life, I catch fragments of her kindness, and each time I reach for her in memory, I am met only with her absence.

This work is constructed from fragments of my own body using a glitched photogrammetry model, digitally disrupted before being reassembled through collage and printed as a cyanotype. Using a technology designed to reconstruct the body, I instead embrace its failure, allowing the fractured form to mirror the impossibility of reconstructing a life once it has been lost.
The fractured body reflects the instability of grief, where identity becomes distorted by loss while continuing to reach towards someone who can no longer be found."
