 "Yoshino" features the trees located at the University of Washington, given as a gift from Japan 90 years ago (transplanted from the Arboretum to their current location in 1962). Though the results of studies are mixed, cherry blossoms are often used to combat aging and inflammation, seen as an antioxidant, and used in teas, oils, or compresses. The leaves also have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effects and the flowers are often used in spellwork for physical and emotional healing.
