"I lost my twins a few years ago due to early birth/pregnancy complications. After they died, my husband and I had a small religious rite performed for us at the hospital. On one side was communion, on the other was loss. This piece explores my experience of receiving sacred tokens of death and hope in the process of my grieving and how it made me look at my own spirituality differently as I reconstructed my life without them with me."
