The first poem reads: "the soles of your feet/ buried in the grassy planes/ mind and soul/ bearing witness to the heavens/ existing simultaneously/ in the present moment/ a distant history/ and multiple abundant futures."
The second poem reads: "i would ensure that/ you would have the most beautiful days/ of deliciously sun-kissed cheeks/ and the most restful nights/ with pearl pennant pleating/ laid gently across your shoulders/ as you drift/ off to/ sleep."
These two pieces are part of a larger body of work titled “mayn neshumele” and reflect themes of matriarchy, the specific love from grandparents, and the general web of life we weave through existence (and your grandma’s knit blankets).
