"This brooch is a wearable badge of grief, a physical indicator of the gouges loss carves in one's soul. A delicate black and pearl Victorian-inspired border cradles a shrieking spectre tearing from the wearer's chest. The juxtaposition between frame and phantom mirrors the intrinsic juxtaposition of grief as a whole, which strikes without consideration for wealth or class."
