"I found the mixtape in a box from high school. The CD was gone, but the case still had his shaky handwriting. We had lost touch after high school, but in my mind, he had continued on with his life. His budding music career continued, and he stayed close with his family. He was still the sweet person I knew, just further away.
Sadly he passed away in 2020. The only thing I have left from him is the case of the mixtape. Even if I still had the disk, there is no longer a CD port left in my car or laptop. Technology has left him behind."
