"My Pure Again series is intended to be a dark & beautiful documentation of the desperate need for bodily autonomy, particularly for those with bodies capable of pregnancy. I was a volunteer abortion clinic escort for several years in Chicago, at one of our country's busiest clinics. After some of the christian extremists, who harass both the people trying to access healthcare & those volunteering to help them do so, found my art online & reshared it to christian extremist facebook groups calling for my salvation & stating that i was possessed by demons from my sin, I decided to make artwork about the judgement, the personal grief, the physical paint, & the "by any means necessary" attitude I was developing about my own bodily autonomy."
