"Fault Line is my exploration of the grief and the shifting landscape of love, loss, and uncertainty that I inhabit. It holds, buried within its layers, the words written in my own hand: 'only alive inside pieces of mistakes that gravity had collected into a life raft called
the present'; Art has become my life raft keeping me moored in the present … where mornings when grief is a stone sitting on the chest gives way to unexpected afternoons when light slips through the cracks and you notice colors you didn't know were still there.
Nothing about the loss has changed. Only the light. A fault line is where immense pressure has been stored for years. Eventually the earth moves.
Afterward, the landscape is never quite the same. Neither are we. But sometimes, if the angle is right, the broken edge catches the sun."
